1. Quick online registration process
Once you have purchased the meter, you can register it immediately online via this website or telephonically on 086 107 6937. This is a quick and simple process, which removes the need to fill out paperwork. As part of the registration process, you will also be able to set your own tariff for the prepaid meter.
2. Tenants unable to run up debt on your electrical account
As the main account holder, you often run the risk of tenants being able to run up debt on your Eskom or Municipal account. It then becomes your burden to try and recover this debt from the tenants. Installing a prepaid meter prevents this from happening. The tenant has to buy units of electricity upfront and, once used up, it is then the tenant’s responsibility to purchase additional tokens at their own expense. This also helps to make the tenant aware of their usage, often resulting in them using electricity more sparingly.
3. Recover electricity costs directly from the tenant
At the end of each month, you will receive a monthly report detailing the breakdown of the electricity purchased. The total amount (excluding our management fee) will then be paid directly into your bank account. This means you do not need to personally recover the electricity costs yourself each month. The funds you receive can then be used to settle your Municipal or Eskom account.
